Religiosity Summit – Join the Conversation!

May 31, 2013

Religion Matters.  Join the Conversation. Change Our Community.

Religiosity Summit – June 4, 2013  – 9 am to Noon

(registration opens at 8:30 am)

H.O. Hirt Auditorium / Blasco Library, 160 E. Front Street, Erie, PA

All faith leaders from every tradition and background across Erie County are invited to attend this Summit — to discuss the data from the 2011 PA Youth Survey, to evaluate the unique information about Erie youth, and to set a course for public discussion that says religion is vital to the health and fabric of our Erie Community.

Social science research has identified that youth who “participate in organized religion for one or more hours per week” (i.e. religiosity) are less likely to participate in problem behaviors, including violence, teen pregnancy, delinquency, substance abuse and depression.  According to the results from the PA Youth Survey, Erie County youth score significantly lower on religiosity than the national average.  Let’s work together to change that!

To RSVP for the Summit or for more info, contact Joe Markiewicz at or (814) 898-6515.
